Art Rise and Emergent Savannah Present: The Artists of Social Change
In March and April of 2015, Emergent Savannah presented a two-part Monday Means Community panel series on the Artists of Social Change, highlighting artists and arts organizations whose work presents a different vision of what art can be and how it brings people together. One of the questions posed to participants was, “ Would you ever turn this into a show?”
This question sparked a collaboration between Art Rise and Emergent Savannah to present The Artist of Social Change, a collaborative show that would interpret Savannah’s civic and activist history through the work of contemporary artists. The Artists of Social Change happens twice a year and is each time interpreted by a new group of partners, curators, social practitioners and artists.
